Lonergan & Raven have always been amongst the industry leaders in developing professional standards. W. G. Raven Funerals was a foundation member of the Master Undertakers Union of 1892, and of the Australian Funeral Directors Association in 1935. Raven’s hearse led the centenary parade of industry professionals in Melbourne in 1992, and more recently Lonergan & Raven was part of the National Funeral Directors Association founded in 1992.

Our current managing director Nigel Davies has sat on or hosted committees such as the National Meeting of Funeral And Cemetery Associations, and the Victorian Funeral Industry Stakeholders Committee, as well as sitting on multiple committees for the Victorian Health and Justice Departments.

As President of the NFDA during Covid, he was a primary contact for federal and state government officials, and for many media organisations.
